Beyond Apple Pie: Sweet and Savory Galettes for ALL Ages

Trendy and tricky enough to interest seasoned pie bakers and easy enough for those too intimidated by pies, galettes will become your new conduit for leftovers, seasonal produce and extra ingredients. In this hands-on class, bakers of all ages will tackle both sweet galettes like spiced apple or cranberry pear and savory galettes, like roasted butternut squash gorgonzola or potato leek. You will learn the basics of preparing and handling galette pastry, and apply this technique to create your own dough with a variety of flours, like spelt, and additional herbs and seasonings. You'll learn how to prepare and arrange decadent galette fillings so that they also look stunning. And we'll make some whipped cream to top the dessert galettes. Each participant will bring home a savory and a sweet galette.

All ages welcome. Children under 16 must be accompanied by paying adult. This is not a drop off class.
