Are you considering taking the plunge into sourdough bread baking? Or perhaps you tested the waters and want better results. Then this virtual course is for you.
A process that develops over multiple days, sourdough bread baking is as simple as it is complicated. By walking you through each step with actual demonstrations and trouble shooting our collective bread baking mishaps, we will help you make sense of sourdough. By the end of this self-paced course you will have an active starter, understand how to care for it, and will have baked a perfect sourdough boulé using one of my tested recipes. You will learn waste-free methods for developing and nurturing your sourdough starter so that he or she nurtures you for years to come. You only need about 30 minutes per day for 10 days to complete the course.
Sourdough Bread Baking for Beginners is a self-paced online course that will get you baking sourdough bread from scratch. There are visual aids, concise videos, scientific explanations, guided practice and recipes. Chef Laura will also be available for personal baking coaching! On day 1, start with flour and water. After just 30 minutes per day for 10 days, you will have a freshly baked loaf of bread.
In this course, you will learn about what is needed to bake sourdough bread and how to use what you already have. I have adjusted and converted my recipes to account for lack of access to commonly used sourdough tools. But, if you must know, here is a list of suggested materials:
