Learn to create Your Own Mardi Gras Brunch! In this class, I bring you on a nostalgic trip back 20 years to when I lived in New Orleans and celebrated Mardi Gras with vibrant parades, lively parties, and endless sweets. During my time there, I was introduced to delicious crawfish boils, flavorful étouffées, and my very first King Cake.
In this class, you’ll learn how to make a decadent King Cake filled with cinnamon and lemon zest, and decorated with celebratory Mardi Gras purple, green and gold. While the dough proves, we’ll whip up a quick and spicy Shrimp and Grits, paired with some Bloody Mary Mocktails (BYOV), which embodies the spirit of brunch in the Big Easy. You’ll also discover more about New Orleans food and culture.
Menu will include:
Mardi Gras King Cake
Spicy Shrimp (or mushrooms) and Grits*
Chicken and Waffles
Seafood and Sausage Gumbo or Red Beans and Rice
Cajun Virgin Bloody Mary*
*Teaching Table does not serve alcohol but you are welcome to BYO.
