Pandemic Pantry Clean-Out

Let’s be honest. We stocked up a little too much at the onset of the pandemic. Perhaps you bought a 20 pound bag of rice because that’s all that was left at the grocery store. Maybe you stored enough canned or dried beans for a nuclear winter. And what are you going to do with all the spices, condiments, and vinegars you bought for the latest quarantine recipe craze?

This class will inspire you to clean out your pantry and then teach you what to do with its extraneous contents.

Chef Laura will guide you through a few different recipe templates that can utilize the specific ingredients YOU have RIGHT NOW. We’re keeping this class small so that each participant gets tailored instruction to create with what you have. You’ll make 3 dishes during class AND walk away with countless options for the remaining grains, beans, legumes, sauces, spices and baking ingredients you still have crowding your kitchen cupboards.

Special equipment: a food processor or blender might be helpful for this class.

  • Customized Plant-based Burgers with Homemade BBQ Sauce

  • Summer Veggie Grain Bowl with Spiced Roasted Nuts or Chickpeas and Tangy Drizzle

  • Pantry Clean Out Granola

Menu is 100% customizable. Everything can be made to be vegan, plant-based or gluten free.

This is a VIRTUAL LIVE COOKING CLASS.

A list of ingredients and materials will be provided at least two weeks prior to class. See below for ideas.

  • grains like quinoa, kasha, rice, wheat berries, farro, amaranth, teff, etc.

  • nuts

  • dried fruit

  • sweetener like honey, maple syrup or agave

  • rolled oats

  • spices

  • oil & vinegar

  • condiments like mustard, ketchup, pickles, mayo, hot sauce, salsa, etc.

  • fresh vegetables

  • egg
