Learn how to make Jamaican Patties, golden stuffed pastry pockets, that are eaten for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack in Jamaica and all over Brooklyn, where I discovered them! We fill ours with spicy beef, Jerk chicken, seasoned vegetables, or combinations of scraps and leftovers.
In this all ages virtual cooking workshop, you will prepare a flavorful Jamaican spiced pastry dough that is the signature of these hand held meat pockets. You’ll learn 3 types of fillings or raid your own fridge and pantry to find ingredients for your own creative patties. Practice rolling out and shaping the dough. Then bake or learn how to savor them for another day.
