Create your own Mardi Gras! This year, I’m dialing it back 20 years to when I lived in New Orleans and celebrated Mardi Gras with parades, parties and sugar for weeks on end. During my time in New Orleans, I was exposed to crawfish boils and etouffées and my first ever King Cake. In this class, you’ll learn how to make a King Cake the Teaching Table way, loaded with cinnamon and lemon zest and decorated using natural food coloring. While our dough is rising, we’ll whip up a quick and Spicy Shrimp and Grits and sip some Bloody Mary Cocktails, the way brunch is intended in the Big Easy. You’ll also learn a bit about New Orleans food and culture and celebrate with friends from afar.
Menu will include:
Mardi Gras King Cake
Spicy Shrimp (or mushrooms) and Grits*
Cajun Bloody Mary
